CARLISLE - The Carlisle Junior Lady Bison used a big third quarter to overcome a three-point deficit at halftime as they knocked off the Woodlawn Junior Lady Bears, 34-22, in the season opener last week at Carlisle.Woodlawn was leading 12-9 at halftime before Carlisle outscored the Junior Lady Bears 17-5 in the third quarter to take the lead for good.Molly Shelby had 12 points, nine rebounds and four steals to lead Woodlawn.“I have a young group this, starting three 8th graders out of the five starters,” said Coach Synthia English. “I thought we played a fairly decenty first half of basketball. Turnovers in the second half helped Carlise go on a run in the third.
