RISON - Drew Central's M.K. Miller scored 10 of her 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Lady Pirates managed to hold off the Rison Wildcats for a 49-45 victory in the 8-3A conference opener for both teams last Friday at the Rison Gym.Drew Central was up 22-20 at the half after leading by five at the end of the first quarter.The Lady Pirates were up 3833 entering the fourth quarter when the Lady 'Cats made just one field goal while knocking down 8-of-12 free throw attempts in the final frame. In the end, it wasn't enough to overcome Miller's big finish.Rison finished with three players scoring in double figures. Nakayla Washigton had 13 followed by Layne Potter and Tee Miller with 11 points apiece.The Lady 'Cats fell to 4-3 overall and 0-1 on conference play with the loss.Rison 73, Hermitage 25HERMITAGE - Tee Miller scored 11 of her 17 points in the first quarter as the Rison Lady Wildcats built a 23-point lead by the end of the opening period before eventually cruising to a 73-25 victory over the Hermitage Lady Hermits in nonconference action last Thursday night at Hjermitage.Hermitage struggled out of the gate as Rison raced out to a 24-1 lead by the end of the first. The Lady 'Cats were up 36-17 by halftime, and then went on a 254 run in the third quarter to put away the Lady Hermits.Miller and Chamira Crain led all scorers with 17 points.
