MAGNET COVE - Magnet Cove extended its five-point halftime lead in the third quarter before the Lady Panthers had to hold off the Woodlawn Lady Bears in the fourth quarter for a 47-41 victory in 8-2A conference action last Friday at Magnet Cove.Woodlawn fell to 1-2 in conference play and 5-5 overall with the loss.After the two teams finished the opening period tied 12-12, Magnet Cove pulled ahead 2116 by the half. The Lady Panthers built on that lead in the third, outscoring the Lady Bears 11-4 to take a 32-20 cushion into the fourth.The Lady Bears responded with 21 points in the final quarter but it wasn't enough to overcame the 12-point deficit.Kelsi Mack led Woodlawn with 11 points, six steals and seven rebounds. Kathryn Dixon also had 11 points while Jaci Hoyt had 10 points and six rebounds.Poyen 50, Woodlawn 24WOODLAWN - A dominate second and third quarter by Poyen allowed the Lady Indians to take control as they rolled to a 50-24 win over the Woodlawn Lady Bears in 8-2A conference play last Tuesday.Poyen was up 7-6 at the end of the first quarter before putting up 21 in the second to take a 2816 lead into halftime. The Lady Indians continued to pull away in the third, outscoring the Lady Bears 16-6 to take a comfortable 44-22 lead into the final frame.Kathryn Dixon had nine points to lead Woodlawn in scoring....
