MONTICELLO - The Drew Central Pirates used a strong finish Tuesday night to put away the Rison Wildcats, 73-45, in an 8-3A game at Monticello.Rison got off to a nice start as Christian Reeves hit a couple of 3-pointers in scoring nine points as the ‘Cats finished the opening frame in a 17-17 tie with the Pirates. Drew Central edged ahead in the second to take a 37-31 lead into the half.After the Pirates extended their lead to 50-40 by the end of the third, they exploded for 22 points in the fourth quarter to put the game away.Kyson Walker led Rison in scoring with 13 points followed by Chandler Reeves with 12 and Christian Reeves with 10.The Wildcats fell to 5-6 overall and 2-5 in conference play with the loss.McGehee 61, Rison 45McGEHEE - The McGehee Owls managed to pull away over the final two quarters as they knocked off the Rison Wildcats, 61-45, in an 8-3A conference matchup last Tuesday night, Jan. 21, at McGehee.The Owls hit four 3-pointers in the first quarter as the Wildcats countered with three of their own from Christian Reeves, Chandler Reeves and Jeramiah Marshall. McGehee led 20-14 after the first quarter but Rison battled back in the second to make it a one-possession game, 29-26, to start the second half.But the Owls began to pull away from there, hitting 6-of-7 free throws in the third to extend their lead to 47-38 by the start of the final period. McGehee was able to continue to add to its lead from there.Chandler Reeves led the Wildcats with 19 points followed by Jaquice Rawls with 11 and Chandler Reeves with 10....
