WARREN -Warren strung together five of their eight hits in the fourth inning to score four runs as the Lady Lumberjacks erased an early two-run deficit to knock off the Woodlawn Lady Bears, 7-3, in Warren Monday afternoon.The Lady Bears got off to a nice start, using a lead-off walk by Lily White, a single from Kathryn Dixon and a one-out hit from Lillie Faye McWhorter to plate the first run. Maci Harrison's sacrifice fly scored Dixon to make it 2-0.Warren loaded the bases in the third off a walk, an error and a hit batter before a two-out double brought all three runners home to put the Lady 'Jacks in front 3-2.Woodlawn tied the game 3-3 in the top of the third when lead off singles by Harrison and Laci Rauls put two aboard before Harrison scored on a two-out error.Warren went back in front for good when three singles and two doubles plated four runs to make 7-3.Rauls was the starting pitcher for the Lady Bears. She gave up one hit and one walk while striking out nine over three innings. Karsyn Chastain followed her for the next two innings, giving up five hits and no walks with two strikeouts. McWhorter allowed one hit and no walks while striking out three in the sixth inning.Woodlawn fell to 4-2 overall with the loss.Bryant 8, Woodlawn 5 MONTICELLO - Kendall Tooke's three-run homerun and Karsyn Chastain's RBI single forced an extra inning in the Woodlawn Lady Bears' clash with Class 6A Bryant Saturday, but the Lady Hornets ended up prevailing, 8-5, in extra frame.Woodlawn and Bryant were playing in the final game of a double-header at Monticello Saturday that was scheduled to go six innings.The Lady Bears were trailing 40 entering the bottom of the sixth when Lily White walked and Kathryn Dixon doubled to put runners at second and third with no one out.
