RISON - For the second consecutive year, Rison High School has been included in U.S. News & World Report's list of Best High School rankings for 2024.In coordination with North Carolina-based RTI International, a global nonprofit social science research firm, U.S. News ranked 17,655 high schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia based on factors that ranged from student demographics to academic performance.Public high schools that ranked among the top 40 percent earned the U.S. News rankings and earned the right to display a U.S. News award "badge" on their media.The methodology used in the rankings focused on six indicators of school quality: college readiness; breadth of curriculum; scores on state proficiency tests; performance in reading, math, and science; underserved student performance; and graduation rates. The weighted scores of those six indicators were transformed so that each eligible school received an overall percentile score between zero and 100. High schools were ranked against peers in descending order of their overall scores.Rison High School had an overall score of 67.63 of 100, ranking it at no. 85 in the state and no. 5,714 nationally. Rison was ranked as the no. 1 high school in the Pine Bluff metro area, which includes Jefferson, Cleveland and Lincoln counties.Haas Hall Academies at Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers and Springdale were the Top 4 ranked high schools, respectively, in Arkansas. Haas Hall Academy at Bentonville had a score of 99.92 of 100, placing it at no. 15 nationally. The Fayetteville campus was no. 66 nationally, the Rogers campus was no. 69, and the Springdale campus was no. 97.Northwest Arkansas Classical Academy at Bentonville rounded out the state’s Top 5.
