County Judge, Sheriff Candidates Take Part in Forum

Body

The Cleveland County Republican Party Committee hosted a political forum for the county judge and sheriff candidates Thursday evening in the Family Life Center at Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church near Rison.

Three of the four candidates for county judge - Jim Houston of the Rye community, Stephen McClellan of New Edinburg, and Rosemary Sinclair of the Staves community - participated in the forum. Keith Spencer of Kingsland, another county judge candidate, was unable to attend due to an emergency. All three candidates for sheriff - Lee Freeman and Keden Shrum of Rison, and Brad Young of the Rowell community - were in attendance.

The questions put before the candidates were not revealed until the forum. The winner of the Repubican primary in both the county judge and sheriff races will be unopposed in the November general election.
