GLEN ROSE - Woodlawn scored seven of its eight runs over the final three frames as the Bears overcame an early two-run deficit to beat the Glen Rose Beavers, 8-4, in a non-conference game last Thursday at Glen Rose.The Beavers cashed in on a couple of Woodlawn errors in the bottom first to grab a quick 2-0 lead that lasted until fifth.Hollis Holderfield led off the top of the fourth with a double before Gavin Edmonds brought him home with a sacrifice fly to cut Glen Rose’s lead to 2-1.Cash Hargis then brought the Bears even with a RBI single in the fifth before a bases-loaded walk to Holderfield gave Woodlawn its first lead, 3-2. Samuel Lovette then scored on a passed ball and Parker Arnold raced home on an error to make it 5-2 Woodlawn.Arnold had a two-out double in the sixth that add another run and the Bears tacked on two more in the top of the seventh off a hit by Tyner Burris and a bases-loaded walk to Saeler. The Beavers were able to plate two runs in the bottom of the seventh before a strikeout ended the rally attempt.Burris had two hits to lead the Woodlawn batting order. Hargis, Arnold, Holderfield, Edmonds, Burris and Saeler all had one RBI apiece.Saeler got the start and went three innings, allowing one hit and one walk with four strikeouts. Hargis pitched the next three-and-one-third innings to get the win. He gave up three hits without a walk and one strikeout.
