All Four County Teams Qualify For Regionals

RISON - Rison and Woodlawn High School’s baseball and softball teams have all qualified for their respective regional tournaments that will begin this Thursday.The Rison teams will be playing in the Class 3A Region 4 Tournament at Bismarck High School, while the Woodlawn teams will be competing in the Class 2A Region 4 Tournament at Murfreesboro.A victory by any of the teams on Thursday will automatically earn them a berth in their respective state tournaments that begin next week.The Rison Wildcats knocked off McGehee 7-1 last Friday to earn the no. 2 seed from the 8-3A conference. They will face the Genoa Central Dragons, the no. 3 seed from the 7-3A, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Bismarck. The Rison Lady Wildcats finished as the no. 4 seed in the final 8-3A conference standings and will play the Genoa Central Lady Dragons, the top seed from the 7-3A, at 3 p.m. Thursday at Bismarck.The Woodlawn Bears won their sixth consecutive district tournament championship on Saturday with a 15-2 win over the Junction City Dragons in the 8-2A Tournament finals. They will meet the Dierks Outlaws, the no. 4 seed from the 7-3A, at 3 p.m. Thursday at Murfreesboro.The Woodlawn Lady Bears won the 8-2A District Tournament title on Friday with a 10-1 win over the Magnet Cove Lady Panthers. The Lady Bears went undefeated to win the regular season championship as well. They will face the Spring Hill Lady Bears, the no. 4 seed from the 7-2A conference, at 3 p.m. Thursday at Murfreesboro....
