Food Truck Friday, Market Return June 5; Rison Shine Plans Events

RISON - Food Truck Friday and Farmers Market will be returning to the Pioneer Village in Rison beginning Friday, June 5, the day before the Cruisin’ Cleveland County bike ride and car show will be held at the same location.The Rison Shine community development group outlined its summer plans during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday. Food Truck Friday will be entering its third season this year. The event, held every other Friday at the Pioneer Village, features a couple of food trucks in addition to a dessert vendor, live entertainment and a farmers market.Booth space to the farmers market is free. Those planning to have a booth will need to bring their own canopy, table and chairs. Spaces are open to anyone wanting to sell produce, cottage foods (baked goods, etc.) or hand-crafted items.The first Food Truck Friday will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 5. There is no admission fee to attend.Organizers said during the meeting that they are looking for new food trucks to attend the event. (See related story in this issue).School Supplies FundraiserRison Shine is again partnering with Freedom Assembly of God in Rison to raise money to buy school supplies for all the students in the Cleveland County School District.There was a discussion of holding fundraisers throughout the summer to help raise money for the effort.
