RISON - Voters will decide a new county judge as well as several statewide positions during the 2022 general election that will be held this Tuesday, Nov. 8, at polling locations across the county.
Polls will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Early voting, meanwhile, continues from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays through Friday, Nov. 4; from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5; and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7. All early voting is held at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building, 404 Sycamore Street across from the courthouse in Rison.
The Cleveland County Clerk’s office reported that 616 people had voted early by the close of business on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
The only countywide race that is contested is for county judge, where Democrat Jimmy Dale Adair and Republican Jimmy Cummings will square off.
In addition to all the statewide offices, voters will also be making decisions on four ballot issues this Tuesday that could change the state constitution:
• Issue 1 gives state senators and representatives authority to call special legislative sessions.
• Issue 2 requires 60 percent voter approval for constitutional amendments and citizenproposed state laws.
• Issue 3 is the Arkansas Religious Freedom Amendment
• Issue 4 would legalize the recreational use of marijuana by adults.
Polling sites by precinct that will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for Tuesday’s general election are as follows:

• Harper - Living Grace Church, 19340 Hwy. 63, Pansy area
• New Home - New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 14060 Hwy, 54, New Home community
