JC's Red Hot Start Too Much for Bears

JUNCTION CITY - Junction City used an explosive first half to build a big halftime lead before cooling some over the final two quarters as the Dragons knocked off the Woodlawn Bears, 74-59, in 8-2A conference action last Friday at Junction City. Both teams got off to a red hot start as Junction City ended the opening period with a 25-20 lead on the strength of five 3-pointers. The Dragons stayed hot in the second quarter, outscoring the Bears 32-13 to go up 57-33 at halftime. "We finally settled down in the second half," Woodlawn Coach Logan Adair."We played better defense in the second half. You can't overcome a 57-point half." The Bears won both the third quarter (14-9) and the fourth quarter (11-9). The loss ruined a career night from senior Jaxson Martin, who finished with 29 points. Landen Booth had 12 for the Bears. Junction City's Lamontra Hankton led all scorers with 30 after. ...
