RISON - Cleveland County School Board President Harrell Wilson said former Sheridan Superintendent Jerrod Williams signed a one-year contract with the school district last Thursday and will officially begin his new duties on July 1.
Wilson said they agreed to the same $127,000 annual salary that outgoing Superintendent Craig Dupuy is currently being paid.
In addition, Wilson said they will provide Williams with the use of a school district vehicle. Wilson said previously that Williams will continue to reside at Searcy during his one-year contract.
Dupuy will be stepping down as superintendent at the conclusion of his current contract on June 30 to become an assistant superintendent for the Benton School District.
All seven members of the Cleveland County School Board voted to offer Williams the one-year contract during a special meeting held last Tuesday, March 28. Wilson said Williams agreed to and signed the contract last Thursday, March 30.
