RISON - The inaugural Cruisin’ Cleveland County Bicycle Ride is set for Saturday, June 17.
The event is being organized and promoted by the City of Rison, Cleveland County Officials and groups within the Kickstart Cleveland County Community Development Initiative.
The ride will begin and end at the Pioneer Village in Rison with routes in lengths of 21, 32 and 62 miles. Routes will take riders across the county. There will be a fourth route for riders who want to just ride in-town.
Maps and registration forms through RunSignUp.com will be available later this week, according to Rison Mayor Charles Roberts who is leading the event with Darren Austin, a county na‐tive and Arkansas Parks and Recreation employee.
Organizers are also seeking sponsors to help cover expenses for t-shirts and additional items for riders sign-up packets. Any‐one interested in sponsoring should contact Pioneer Village President Marty Bowlin at (870) 540-7545.
Volunteers will be needed to set up at spots along the routes to provide water and snacks to riders. Anyone interested in vol‐unteering is encouraged to call (501) 545-5319 or attend the next Cruisin’ Cleveland County meeting set for Monday, May 22 at 6 p.m. at Rison’s City Hall.
