RISON - The Cleveland County Veterans Association has announced that it has extended its submission period for collecting names of veterans for a new plaque that will be placed at Veterans Park in Rison.
While the initial effort was to segregate the names of veterans with ties to Cleveland County by the conflict/era they served in, organizers said this new plaque will include the names of veterans regardless of the time they served.
The cost to include a name on this newest plaque is $10. To submit a name, send a note with the veteran's name, the branch of the armed services they served in, and the era (World War II, Korean War, Vietnam, etc.)/peace time they served in. Be sure to include a contact telephone number should there be any questions.
Send the name of the person along with a check made payable to the Cleveland County Veterans Association to John Blanchard, Veterans Plaque, P.O. Box 855, Rison, AR 71665.
