RISON - The Cleveland County Quorum Court and the Rison City Council have both postponed their respective July meetings due to the Independence Day holiday. The Cleveland County Quorum Court usually meets the first Monday night of each month while the Rison City Council usually meets the first Tuesday night of each month.
The quorum court voted last month to change its July meeting to 6 p.m Monday July 10, at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building across from the courthouse in Rison.
The Rison City Council voted to move its meeting t o 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, at Rison City Hall. This reflects a new starting time since the city council voted during its June meeting to begin city council meetings at 6 p.m. rather than at 7 p.m. as it has in the past.
