Accident Along Hwy. 63 Kills One, Injures Two

RISON - A man from Warren died and two others were injured in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon along Hwy. 63 north of the Rodgers Road intersection, according to the Arkansas State Police. State Police reported that the driver of the car, Dakarius Davis, 21, of Warren, died in the accident while passengers Kailee Curry, 18, and Akai Kelly, 21, both of Warren, were injured and taken by ambulance to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Trooper Wade Schanzlin stated that the vehicle all three were in was southbound on Hwy. 63 when the driver lost control, crossed the centerline and left the east side of the highway before becoming airborne and colliding with a tree. The car overturned before coming a rest along the east side of the highway. The accident occurred at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday. State Police said the weather was cloudy but the road conditions were dry at the time of the wreck. Cleveland County Coroner Chuck Valentine said he pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Valentine said the Woodlawn Fire Department was called to the scene at about 3:15 p.m. but no extraction equipment was needed. ...
