Grief Seminar To Be Held Saturday, Sunday in Rison

RISON - Jeff Jenkins of The Jenkins Institute in Alabama will be presenting "Hope for the Hurting: A Grief Seminar" this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 2324, at Rison Church of Christ, 6480 U.S. Hwy. 79 in Rison. The seminar will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, and at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24. A fellowship meal will be provided each day of the seminar. Saturday's schedule begins at 4 p.m. with "Some Things I Wish Everyone Knew About Grief -Part 1" followed by a fellowship meal at 5:15 p.m. Part 2 of "Some Things I Wish Everyone Knew About Grief" begins at 6:30 p..m. With a question an answer session at 7:30 p.m. Sunday's schedule begins with "Beyond the Valley: Moving Forward After Loss" at 9:30 a.m. Followed by "Comforting Words From Jesus" Part 1 at 10:25 a.m. A fellowship meal will be served at 11:30 a.m. Followed by Part 2 of "Comforting Words From Jesus" at 1:30 p.m. Jenkins is the author of "Beyond the Valley of Death: Comforting Thoughts When I Lost My Spouse." Jenkins grew up in a preacher's family in the state of Alabama. He has been preaching since 1973. He married the former Laura in 1981. They have two children Amanda, who is married to Drew Scott, and Jeremy. They also have three precious grandchildren. Jeff holds degrees from Faulkner University (AA – 1979), Freed-Hardeman University (BA – 1981), and has done post-graduate work at both Southern Christian University and Emory University. Jeff has served as the preaching minister for the Midway Church of Christ in Moulton, Alabama (1981-1984), University Church of Christ in Montgomery, Alabama (1984-1994), and North MacArthur Church of Christ in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (1994-2004). He has been the preaching minister for the Lewisville Church of Christ since July 2004.
