Major General Stubbs Addresses Luncheon

RISON - Major General Jonathan Stubbs, The Adjunct General of the Arkansas National Guard, addresses those gathered for the annual Cleveland County Veterans Appreciation Luncheon held Saturday at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Rison. The event, organized by the Cleveland County Veterans Association, provided a free catfish and chicken lunch prepared by Dorey’s Catfish for all veterans and one guest. Gen. Stubbs thanked the veterans for their service as well as their spouses. He called the Arkansas National Guard “your hometown force for good” in the world, and described how Arkansas National Guardsmen are currently serving the country worldwide by helping training Ukranian officers and soldiers and about 600 stationed in countries in the Middle East. Gen. Stubbs also stressed a need to for more people to join the National Guard. “We need some more folks, plain and simple,” he said. “We need more joining in Arkansas to wear the uniform.” Event organizers said more than 220 meals were serve at Saturday’s luncheon. ...
