Helen Ann Coleman Oliger, 83, of the Woodlawn community, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 19, 2024.
She was born June 2, 1940, in Pine Bluff to Joe and Winnie Coleman.
She graduated in 1958 from Watson Chapel High School. Ms. Helen retired from Pine Bluff National Bank. She was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
Ms. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Floyd Carroll Oliger, whom she married on June 6, 1959.
Also preceding her in death were her parents Joe and Winnie Coleman; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary “Negie” Dixon (Bobby); one brother-in-law, Harold Oliger.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Velvet Oliger of Woodlawn; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann and Phil Rogers of Calmer; one brother, Freddie Coleman (Vickie) of Watson Chapel; one sister-in-law, Reba Livingston (Max) of Little Rock; six grandchildren and spouses, Elizabeth Rogers Stacks (Joe) of Taylor; Rebecca Rogers Richardson (Bryan) of Rowell; Hannah Rogers Slaughter (Steven) of Woodlawn; Jacob Rogers (Laynie) of Calmer; Brianne Pettit Reed (Randall) of Calmer; Leslie Oliger Williams (Colton) of Hamburg. Twelve greatgrandchildren, Julieann Elizabeth Stacks, Holland Carroll Stacks, Brody Lee Richardson, Ella Marie Richardson, Brantley Keith Reed, Nowlen Reece Slaughter, Kinsley Brooke Williams, Bellamy Kate Reed, Weston Allen Williams, Landry Cole Slaughter, Kora Beth Williams, and Emmett Andrew Rogers.
Ms. Helen enjoyed many hobbies, including baking, gardening, shopping, and tending to the hummingbirds. She loved keeping the nursery at church and always introduced herself as Granny to everyone she met.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 22, 2024, with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m., at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Woodlawn, AR, with Brother Joseph Stacks and Brother Jackie Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery.
Jacob Rogers, Bryan Richardson, Steven Slaughter, Randall Reed, Colton Williams, and Tom Brown will serve as pallbearers.
