Rison Coaching Vacancy Has Drawn 19 Applicants

RISON - Cleveland County School District Athletic Director Davy King told the Herlad Monday night that he has already received 19 applications from coaches interested in becoming the next football coach for the Rison Wildcats.King said he has been flooded with applications as soon as word began to spread last week that Caleb Carmikle was stepping down as the Wildcat coach March 29 to become the head football coach at his alma mater, Heber Springs High School.King said he has not put a closing date as to when the district will stop accepting applications for the head football coaching position. He said the current plans are to narrow the list to a group of finalists that will be interviewed sometime after Spring Break, which is next week.The pool of candidates so far includes several who have head coaching experience, King said....
