WOODLAWN - Woodlawn had 11 hits and drew nine walks over three innings as the Lady Bears dominated the Junction City Lady Dragons, 16-1, in an 8-2A conference game Tuesday at Lady Bear Field.Junction City took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first off two walks and a ground out.The Lady Bears, however, stormed back with 10 in the bottom of the frame off a couple of two-run doubles by Madi West and Karsyn Chastain as well as RBI singles from Lily White, Madi West and Kendall Tooke. West also scored on a passed ball, and Lillie Faye McWhorter's bases-loaded walk added another.After a scoreless second inning, Woodlawn ended the game with six runs in the third. Tooke had a single that scored one run and White had a hit that brought two more home. Kathryn Dixon doubled to add another one and Jaci Hoyt had a sacrifice fly that tacked one more. Madi West then then had a two-out single to make it 16-1 to invoke the 15run rule after three innings.Madi West and White both finished with three hits apiece. West had four RBIs while White had three.McWhorter was the starting pitcher. She did not give up a hit and walked two while striking out five over two innings. Jaimie Simmons threw the third, giving up one hit and striking out two.The Lady Bears improved to 12-4 overall and 2-0 in 8-2A play with the win.Woodlawn 7, Hamburg 6HAMBURG - Hamburg had the tying at third with one out in the seventh inning, but the Woodlawn Lady Bears were able to get a ground out and pop up to end the game and preserve a 7-6 non-conference win over the Lady Lions Monday at Hamburg.Woodlawn led 7-1 after the top of the sixth before Hamburg mounted a late comeback.Kathryn Dixon's two-out single to drive in a couple runs to give Woodlawn a 2-0 lead in the top of the second.
