Mary Featherston Jones, 81, of Woodlawn passed away, Friday, May 19, 2023 in her home surrounded by loved ones.
Mary was born October 5, 1941 in Oak Grove, LA to the late C.H. Johnson and Mattie Lee Moore Johnson.
Mrs. Jones worked in various nursing facilities across Arkansas as a nurse. She loved to garden, and enjoyed spending time in her kitchen cooking for friends and family. Mary loved to talk, she never met a stranger and was able to carry a conversion with anyone. She was also known for red lipstick.
Mary was a member of New Harvest Church of God in White Hall, where when her health allowed, she was active in the women’s ministry.
Also preceding her in death was her first husband Donald Ray Featherston, one son, Douglas Featherston, and four brothers, Joe Johnson, Wendell Johnson, Huey Johnson, and Donald Johnson.
Survivors include her loving husband of 15 years, Eugene Jones of Woodlawn, three daughters, Brandy Jones and husband Stephen of Woodlawn, Genaifer Ashcraft and husband Steve of Woodlawn, and Deborah Williams of Star City, nine grandchildren, Adrian, Paige, Spencer, Joseph, Colton, Jessica, Julie, Laura, and Kasie, eleven great grandchildren and two on the way, many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
A private family memorial will be planned at a later date.
