Doris Jean Cox Simmons was born on January 22, 1933, and entered into eternal rest on June 6, 2024, at the age of 91. Jean was born and raised in New Edinburg, Arkansas.

Barbara was born May 6, 1948, in Rowell, Arkansas, the eighth of twelve children, to the late Lester Grider and Maggie Spakes Grider. In 1965, Barbara married her first husband, the late Jimmy West and raised their two sons – Jeffrey Shane West and Anthony Brent West.
