DONALDSON - The Woodlawn Bears snapped a threegame skid Saturday with a dominating 55-32 victory over the Mountain Pine Red Devils in their final game at the Ouachita Tournament this past Saturday in Donaldson.The Bears led 44-13 at halftime as Woodlawn Coach Logan Adair went deep into his bench over the second half before posting a 23-point win.Garrett Weatherford led the Bears with 21 points followed by Jude Roberts with 20.Adair said Roberts, a junior, went into the game needing 18 points to hit 1,000 career points in his varsity career, and he accomplished that with a steal and layup in the third quarter.Woodlawn improved to 8-5 overall with the win.Blevins 82, Woodlawn 71DONALDSON - Blevins used a late surge and made its free throws in the closing minutes as the Hornets pulled out an 82-71 win over the Woodlawn Beasrs in the Ouachita Tournament last Friday at Donaldson.Woodlawn was leading by 13 with about two minutes left in the third when the Hornets started feeding it to their two bigs down low. Still, the Bears were up by one with 1:25 left in the game when it looked as though Jake Allred had been fouled while pulling down an offensive rebound. However, Allred was whistled for the foul instead and Blevins went down to score and take the lead.Bears Coach Logan Adair said they just could not get a stop down the stretch as the Hornets made their free throws to get the win. He said Blevins attempted eight free throws in the fourth quarter compared to none for Woodlawn.The Bears' Jude Roberts led all scorers with 30 points while Garrett Weatherford followed with 23.
