Caleb Martin Powers Woodlawn Past Hermitage, 57-0

WOODLAWN - Caleb Martin rushed for 219 yards and scored three touchdowns as the Woodlawn Bears overpowered the undermanned Hermitage Hermits, 57-0, during Homecoming last Friday night at the Carl Jones Sports Complex. Woodlawn improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in South Conference play with the victory. Hermitage, which had just 10 players for the game, fell to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in league action. He had 111 yards in the opener at Parkers Chapel and 124 against Strong on Sept. 30. Woodlawn scored on all seven of its possessions in the first half as the Bears built a 50-0 lead by halftime. Caleb Martin opened the scoring on a 23-yard run with 7:05 left in the first quarter. Landen Booth added the two-point conversion to make it 8-0. Quarterback Jaxson Martin, on the play after his twin brother’s 86-yard run, scored on a three-yard keeper to make it 14-0 after the conversion attempt was fumbled. Fisher Hale added a 31yard TD with 59 seconds left in the first to make it 22-0 after Booth tacked on another twopoint run. The onslaught continued in the second quarter as a short punt on the first play of the period left the Bears with a short field. Hale found the end zone from 18 yards out, but the conversion was stopped to make it 28-0. Jaxson...
