Fourth Inning Lifts PC Past 'Cats, 3-1

RISON - Parkers Chapel led off the fourth with three hits to score two runs, and then added a run in the seventh as the Trojans squeezed by the Rison Wildcats, 3-1, in an 8-2A conference game last Wednesday at Wildcat Fiedl Rison took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning when Brock Southerland walked, moved to second on a ground out, stole third and then scored. Wildcat starting pitcher Jud Terry was able to hold the Trojans at bay for most of the game before they started the fourth with back-to-back singles that resulted in one run and then a double scored another to make it 2-1. Parkers Chapel was able to add an insurance run in the top of the seventh when Dylan Davies doubled to start the frame and then scored on a twoout single by Chris Greer. Rison, meanwhile, was unable to muster another run after its score in the opening frame. The 'Cats reached on an error to start the second and then Terry singled to lead-off the third. Both runners were left stranded. Terry's single in the third was the Wildcats' only hit of the game. Terry pitched all seven innings for Rison. He gave up nine hits with just one walk while striking out four. Rison fell to 3-3 overall and 22 in 8-2A action with the league loss. ...
