Lady Bears Fall to JC in OT

WOODLAWN - Junction City erased Woodlawn's 15-point fourth quarter lead as the Lady Dragons rallied for a 59-56 victory over the Lady Bears in overtime Monday night at the Carl Jones Sports Complex Gym. Woodlawn led 31-14 at halftime before Junction City whittled it down to a 36-21 margin by the start of the final period. The Lady Dragons responded with their best frame of the game, scoring 28 points to tie the game, 49-49, at the end of regulation. Junction City had 17 free throws in the fourth quarter to help fuel the comeback. Woodlawn, meanwhile, had three players foul out: Anna Fitzgibbon, Jaci Hoyt and Lillie McWhorter. Kathryn Dixon led the Lady Bears with 14 points followed by McWhorter with 12 and Hoyt with 11. Gurdon 53, Woodlawn 24 GURDON - Gurdon used a 10-1 second quarter to take control of the game as the Lady Go Devils raced past the Woodlawn Lady Bears, 53-24, in 8-2A conference action last Friday at Gurdon.
