Lady Bears Fall at Poyen

POYEN - Poyen used an explosive second quarter to take control as the fifth-ranked Lady Indians rolled to a 60-33 win over the Woodlawn Lady Bears in 8-2A conference action last Thursday night at Poyen.The Lady Indians led 14-8 after the first quarter before going on a 22-2 run in the second to open up 36-10 lead by halftime. Woodlawn was able to shave three points off that lead by the end of the third quarter, but Poyen stretched it back out in the fourth.Kelsi Mack led the Lady Bears with 10 points.The loss snapped a six-game win streak by the Lady Bears, who fell to 14-12 overall and 7-5 in league play after the loss.Poyen, ranked fifth in the state in Class 2A according to some polls, remained perfect in conference play at 12-0 while moving to 20-2 overall with the win....
