Lady 'Cats Vying for 2nd After Parkers Chapel Win

RISON - The Rison Lady Wildcats knocked off the Parkers Chapel Lady Trojans, 60-48, Monday night at the Rison Gym to put themselves in position to possibly finish second in the final 8-2A conference regular season standings. Going into Monday's game, Parkers Chapel held second in the conference standings behind 10-0 Fordyce with an 8-2 record. The Lady Wildcats' victory dropped the Lady Trojans to 8-3 in conference play while Rison improved to 6-5. Parkers Chapel was scheduled to play at Fordyce this Thursday in what would be its final regular season game of the year. Should the Lady Trojans fall to the league leaders, they would finish conference play with an 8-4 record. Rison, meanwhile, will complete its regular season with a road trip to neighboring Woodlawn on Thursday before hosting Ouachita on Friday. Woodlawn is currently 1-10 in league play while Ouachita is 5-5. Should the Lady 'Cats win both games this week, they would finish the regular season with an 8-4 record to match that of Parkers Chapel should the Lady Trojans lose at Fordyce Thursday. Rison managed to squeeze in a make-up game with Fordyce due to the ice storm on Saturday at Redbug Arena. The Lady 'Bugs won that game 55-44 to hand the Lady Wildcats their fourth league loss of the year. Game details were not available. ...
