Lady Wildcat Cross Country Finishes 5th at State Meet

HOT SPRINGS - The Rison Lady Wildcat cross country team finished 5th at the Class 3A Arkansas State Cross Country Meet held this past Saturday at the Oaklawn Park infield in Hot Springs.Overall, 15 teams representing 136 competitors participated in the Class 3A state meet.Providence Academy, located in Rogers, won the Class 3A state title after taking four of the top five finishes in the meet. Gabbie Bishop of Providence was the overall winner finishing the 5,000-meter course in  17:28.70.Providence runners also finished in second, fourth and fifth place, and had nine runners place among the Top 20 in the overall individual results.Providence won the meet with 20 points followed by Genoa Central with 98, Central Arkansas Christian with 114, Maumelle Charter with 122, and Rison with 179.Freshman Jazzlyn Price had the best individual performance of any of the Lady Wildcats finishing 21st with a time of 23:38.00Rison’s other individual finishes were: 40th Kayla Jackson, 24:50.21; 45th Bella Butler,  25:09.99; 66th Riley Hyatt,  26:57.19; 71st Rhagen Price,  27:31.08; 75th Taylor Murdock,  27:58.93; and 93rd Allie Bennett, 29:50.86...
