Lady Wildcats Drop 8-3A Game at Drew Central

MONTICELLO - Drew Central cashed in on a couple of errors in the fifth inning to regain the lead as the Lady Pirates pulled for an 8-5 win over the Rison Wildcats Tuesday in an 8-3A conference game at Monticello.Rison took a couple of leads in the game. Riley Hyatt scored on an error in the top of the first to give the Lady ‘Cats an early 1-0 lead before the Lady Pirates answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Jazlyn Price had an RBI single and Hyatt had a sacrifice fly to score two runs in the top of the second to put Rison up 3-2. Drew Central tied it up with an run in the bottom of the second.Rhagen Price drove in Hyatt with a hit in the fourth to give the Lady ‘Cats a 4-3 lead but Drew Central used two singles sandwiched around back-to-back errors to plate three runs in the fifth to go back on top, 6-4.Jazyln Price and Hyatt had back-to-back hits to start the sixth, and Haven Simpson’s ground out scored a run to pull Rison within one, 6-5.However, Drew Central tacked on a couple of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth off a triple and wild pitch to make it 8-5.Despite the loss, the Lady Wildcats out-hit the Lady Pirates 10-7. Jazlyn Price had three hits while Hyatt, Rhagen Price and Claire Socia had two each.Railyn Smith was the starting pitcher for Rison and took the loss after five  frames.
