Lady Wildcats Split 8-3A Games

DUMAS - Dumas used an explosive third quarter to break the game open as the Lady Bobcats dominated in the second half for a 60-31 win over the Rison Lady Wildcats in 8-3A conference action last Friday night at Dumas.Rison was down 27-21 at the half when Dumas used a 25-2 run in the third quarter to put the game away. The Lady Bobcats' Alana Rounds and Kenya Johnson combined for 17 points in the third quarter with Rounds hitting two 3-pointers and Johnson one.Tee Miller was the only Lady Wildcat to score in double figures with 11. Layne Potter and Nakayla Washington followed with six apiece.Dumas, ranked no. 8 in one Class 3A poll, improved to 23-1 overall and 11-0 in 8-3A conference action with the win. Rison fell to 12-10 overall and 4-6 in league play. Heading into Tuesday night's action, the Lady Wildcats were in fifth place in the conference standings, a half game behind DeWitt.Rison 55, DeWitt 29RISON - Layne Potter knocked down five 3-pointers and scored 22 points as the Rison Lady Wildcats blew past the DeWitt Lady Dragons, 55-29, victory in an 8-3A game last Tuesday inside the Rison Gym.DeWitt led 11-10 at the end of the first quarter when Tee Miler and Potter combined for 13 points in the second period as the Lady 'Cats surged in front, 27-22, by halftime.Rison took control in the second half as DeWitt managed just seven points over the final two quarters after goin scoreless in te third. The Lady 'Cats led 41-22 entering the final period.Potter drained a 3 in each quarter, hitting one in the first, one in the second, two in the third and one in the fourth. Miller followed with 19 points after scoring 13 in the first half....
