Lady Wildcats Sweep Dumas; In Battle for 8-3A Third Seed

DUMAS - The Rison Lady Wildcats assured themselves of a bid to the Class 3A Region 4 Tournament at Bismarck next week with an 8-3A double-header sweep of the Dumas Lady Bobcats Monday at Dumas. Rison won the first game 16-1 and the night cap 10-0. The Lady ‘Cats improved to 8-11 overall and 3-3 in conference play with the wins. They are currently in a battle with Drew Central for the third and fourth seeds from the 8-3A. The two teams split their conference games with Drew Central winning at home 8-5 and Rison winning at home 4-3.The Lady Wildcats close out against McGehee and DeWitt while the Lady Pirates play at DeWitt.Here is a recap of Monday’s double-header:Rison 16, Dumas 1Rhagen Price tossed a one-hitter and drove in three runs as Rison knocked off Dumas 16-1 in three innings in the first game.Rhagen Price singled in Riley Hyatt for the first run of the game before Elissa Summar’s ground out scored Price. The Lady Wildcats added two more runs on an error and wild pitch.Rhagen Price had an RBI triple to start the scoring in the second inning before Mackenzie King added another off a hit. King and Summar both scored on wild pitches before Kendyl Eans added one more to make it 9-0.After Dumas scored in the bottom of the second, Rison invoked the 15-run rule with seven runs in the third.King scored on a wild pitch and Summar crossed home on a passed ball. A bases-loaded walk to Allie Bennett pushed another run across before another passed ball resulted in one more score. Jazlyn Price had an RBI single and Rhagen Price then ended it with a hit that brought Jazlyn Price home to make it 16-1.Rhagen Price when 3-for-4 at the plate with a triple.
