WOODLAWN - Junction City scored on a put back as time expired as the Junior Dragons escaped Woodlawn with a 44-42 win over the Junior Bears in 8-2A conference play Monday night at Woodlawn.
The two teams were knotted up 27-27 at halftime before Junction pulled ahead in the third to lead 35-31 heading into the fourth quarter. The Junior Bears managed to pull even 42-42 before the Junior Dragons executed their offense with 6 seconds left, making the gamewinning shot off an offensive rebound.
The loss ruin a solid outing by Jake Allred, who led Woodlawn with 20 points. Cash Hargis, meanwhile, turned in his second consecutive double-digit gaem with 11 points while Chandler Freyer, who fouled out of the game, hit a couple of treys to finish with eight. Smackover 49, Woodlawn 40
SMACKOVER - Smackover hit some deep 3's and converted some plus-one's down the stretch as the Junior Buckaroos held on for a 49-40 non-conference victory over the Woodlawn Junior Bears last Monday, Jan. 30, at Smackover.
