Rauls, Lady Bears Blank Ouachita

DONALDSON - Laci Rauls struck out eight of the 11 batters she faced and the Woodlawn Bears made the most of their scoring opportunities as they blasted the Ouachita Lady Warriors, 15-0, in an 8-2A leaguue win Monday at Donaldson. Woodlawn had seven hits and 15 RBIs in a game that ended after three by the 15-run rule. All 15 runs came in the final two frames after the Lady Bears went scoreless in the first inning. After Woodlawn's lead-off batter lined out to start the second, Kendal Tooke and Kaitlyn Webb both singled before Maci Harrison reached on a dropped third strike. A bases-loaded walk scored the first run and Lily White followed with a single that scored two more. Jaci Hoyt had another hit to reload the bases and an error on Kathryn Dixon's grounder brought in another run. Another error on Anna Fitzgibbon's ground ball scored two more and Lillie Faye McWhorter followed with a triple that drove in two more. Tooke's ground out then scored McWhorter to make it 9-0 Woodlawn. The Lady Bears started the third by drawing back-to-back walks before another Ouachita error resulted in a run. Another walk loaded the bases and another walk pushed one more across to make it 11-0. With the bases still loaded, Fitzgibbon hammered a triple that drove in all three more to make it 14-0. One out later, Tooke had a double to bring-Fitzgibbon home to make the final 15-0. The Lady Warriors' only baserunner of the game came with two out in the bottom of the third when a batter was hit by a pitch. Rauls struck out the next batter to preserve the shutout. Woodlawn needed just seven runs to plate the 15 runs. Tooke was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Fitzgibbon finished with a double with five RBIs while White had one hit and three RBIs.
