LITTLE ROCK - Rison and Woodlawn High Schools both placed players on the Class 2A All-State and All-State Tournament baseball and softball teams, according to an announcement this week from the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA).For Rison High School, junior Layne Potter was named to the All-State softball team while senior catcher Canon Cope was named to the All-State baseball team. Cope has signed to play baseball for Southern Arkansas University next season. Also, Josey Edwards, pitcher for the Lady Wildcats, was named to the All-State Tournament team.For Woodlawn High School, junior pitcher Lillie Faye McWhorter and junior infielder Kendall Tooke were both named to the All-State softball team while McWhorter was also named to the All-State Tournament team. Meanwhile, senior infielder/ pitcher Brayden Jones and junior pitcher/infielder Peyton Wells were named to the All-State baseball team while junior infielder/pitcher Tate Hall and senior catcher Jayden Wilmoth were named to the All-State Tournament team.
