Wildcats Beat Beavers; Fall To Warren, 62-54

LAKE VILLAGE - The Rison Wildcats picked up their first 83A conference win with a 66-61 victory over the Lake Village Beavers on the road Tuesday night.Game details were not available at press time. The Wildcats improved to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play with the win.Warren 62, Rison 54 RISON -Warren used a strong start to build an early lead as the Class 4A Lumberjacks held off the Rison Wildcats, 62-54, in a non-conference matchup Monday night inside the Rison Gym.It was Rison's first game dropping a 79-75 decision to Drew Central back on Dec. 13.Neondra Thomas and Antonia Jordan combined for 13 points in the first quarter as the Lum-berjacks went up 22-16 by the end of the opening frame. Warren led 34-25 at halftime.After scoring just six points in the first half, Rison's Christian Reeves heated up in the third, scoring eight of the Wildcats' 15 points as they made it a two-possession game, 46-40, to start the fourth quarter.But Jordan got rolling again in the final period for Warren as he scored nine points to keep the Wildcats at bay down the stretch.Christian Reeves scored 18 points in the second half as he led all scorers with 24 points. Jordan finished with 22 for the Lumberjacks.Rison fell to 3-2 overall with the loss while Warren improve to 3-2 overall with the win....
