Woodlawn Weight Team Finishes Fifth

RISON - The Woodlawn power lifting team finished fifth in the team standings at the Arkansas Power Lifting Association held this past Saturday at Monticello High School, Coach Trent Young announced. Young said they had some lifters who moved up in weight classification at this meet due to missing the cut-off weight by about 2 lbs. or less. He said there were a total of 85 lifters at the meeting. Woodlawn had three lifters place within the top three of their weight classifications. Placement is determined by the total weight lifted in the three lifts: bench press, dead lift and squat. Manny Wagner won the 242 classification with a total lift of 1,040 lbs. While teammate Landan Johnson was third with a total of 850 lbs. Young said Johnson tied his personal best in the bench and dead lift. After winning the 148 classification at the last meet, sophomore Jude Rauls lifted in the 165 classification this time, finishing third with a total lift of 925 lbs. Results for other weight classifications include: 148 Pounds - Aidan Moore was sixth with a total of 775 lbs. while Ethan Adair was ninth with a total of 725 lbs. Young said both Moore and Adair had personal bests in the bench and dead lift at the meet. 165 Pounds - Jude Rauls was third with a total lift of 925 lbs. while freshman Matthew Green was eighth with 750 lbs. Young said Green had personal bests in the bench press and dead lift. 198 Pounds - Steve Adair was fourth with a total lift of 970 lbs. while Nick Sullivan was seventh with a total of 860 lbs. Young said Adair had a personal best in the dead lift while Sullivan had a new best in the bench press. 220 Pounds - Daxton White was fourth with a total lift of 890 lbs., setting a personal best in the dead lift. 242 Pounds - Manny Wagner was first with a total lift of 1,040 pounds while Landan Johnson was third with a total of 850 lbs. 275 P...
