Leopard Family Reunion Held at 'Y'

RISON - Organizers said the annual Leopard Family Reunion was a blessing this year with a whopping 62 in attendance, which packed the "Y" Community Center. We all had the best time with great fellowship, stories of the past and food galore! If you left hungry, it was your own doing.

Blacksmith Club Using Skills at Pioneer Village

RISON - At the May 4-H Blacksmith meeting, the students used the skills they are learning to help repair the sign at the Pioneer Village Blacksmith shop. The sign was blown down by high winds. The 4-Hers, under the leadership of Mr. Ed Montgomery, forged nails and hangers used to rehang the sign.

RISON -   Two cousins with deep Cleveland County roots are set to grace the stage at this year’s Miss Arkansas pageant set for June 7–14 at the Robinson Center in Little Rock.

Hoyt Named Finalist in Art Competition

WOODLAWN - Jaci Hoyt, an 11th grade student from Woodlawn High School is one of the Finalists for the Lowell Milken Center for Unsung Heroes ARTEFFECT 2025 Competition. The 115 projects encompass 64 Unsung Heroes stories, including all seven Spotlight Unsung Heroes.

Davidson Awarded at Young Artist Reception

WOODLAWN - Annie Davidson's art submission, Governor's Dreamhouse, received an award at the 2025 Governor’s Young Artist reception on May 13. She received the Secretariat Award along with a $100 check. Judges commented that the entry exemplifies happiness and joy.
