WOODALWN - Woodlawn students competed against one another in a tight race for the district’s top spellers in the school’s annual spelling bee held in the Woodlawn School Cafeteria Thursday, Nov. 14. Twenty-five spellers from grades four through eight participated in the bee to determine Woodlawn's Spelling Bee Champion and to identify contenders for the Cleveland County Spelling Bee. The bee ended in a neck and neck race for first as Jayci Rauls, a fifth-grader from Woodlawn Elementary, was declared champion in the twenty-ninth round and Victor HU, a seventh-grader, was declared runner up. Cade Bostian placed third followed by Shelby Nooner and Emma Brock placing fourth and fifth respectively.
