RISON - The Rison Lady Wildcats finished third in the Class 2A Region 8 District Track Meet held last Wednesday, April 26, at Gurdon.
Host Gurdon won the meet followed by Fordyce and Rison.
The 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams consisting of Shermyah Bracey, La'Drea Hamilton, Destiny Lea and Brianna Ferrell took home first place in both events.
The 4x400 relay team consisting of Shermyah Bracey, Destiny Lea, Josie Farrer, and Rhagen Price was second while the 4x800 relay team consisting of Fallon Johnson, Kate Morrison, Harley Rowland, and Anna Vallance placed third.
Individual results included:
Josie Farrer won the 400 meter dash and Rhagen Price placed second
Brianna Ferrell was second in the 200 meter dash and fourth in the 100 meter dash
Jade Keaton placed fourth and Caroline Morrison finished sixth in the 3200 meter run
Kate Morrison placed fifth in the 800 meter run
Destiny Lea placed fifth in the 100 meter dash,
La'Drea Hamilton placed fifth in the 200 meter dash
Aubre Brandon placed fifth in the discus while R'erel Roshell placed seventh in discus and eighth in shot put
The following athletes qualified for the 2A State Track Meet that was held Tuesday, May 2, at Quitman: Shermyah Bracey, Josie Farrer, Brianna Ferrell, La'Drea Hamilton, Destiny Lea, and Rhagen Price.
