RISON - Two local events and a fireworks show will be held this Saturday in Rison as America celebrates its 250th anniversary.
American Legion Post 83 will host a “Fourth of July Community Celebration” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 4, at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building, 404 Sycamore Street in Rison. The event includes an opening ceremony, free hamburgers and hot dogs, a military display and more.
That evening, the Pioneer Village at Rison will host a free “Family Fun Fourth of July Celebration” beginning at 7 p.m. The event will include free hot dogs, ice cream, watermelon and cake with musician Laura Caroline performing.
Festivities will conclude at dark with the Rison Community Fireworks Show hosted by the Green House Cottages.
