KINGSLAND - Kickstart Kingsland broke ground Saturday, July 18, at the site of the future Kingsland Amphiteater in the city’s Heritage Park.
According to Kingsland Mayor Samantha Johnson, who also serves as Executive Director of Kickstart Kingsland, “This a project that belongs to our entire community. What started as an idea has grown through countless hours of planning, hard work, and the support of so many people who believe in making Kingsland an even better place to live, visit, and enjoy.”
This amphitheater will be a gathering place for concerts, festivals, community events, school performances, and memories that will last for generations.
Johnson issued “A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the ceremony, volunteered their time, donated, encouraged us, or simply believed in this project from the beginning. This milestone would not have been possible without you.”
Johnson said phase one of construction is expected to begin July 25 with a targeted opening and commencement for the Get Rhythm Music Festival set for Sept. 26.
A soft opening will be planned in advance of the festival with a pending date.
