Quorum Court Will Have Meeting Jan. 9

RISON - The Cleveland County Quorum Court has moved its January meeting to 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, due to a conflict with the New Year's Day holiday. The meeting will be held at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building rather than the courtroom inside the courthouse. The quorum usually meets on the first Monday of each month, which would be Jan. 2 for the first meeting of 2023. However, since New Year's Day falls on Sunday, Jan. 1, the state and county governments will be taking Monday, Jan. 2, as their work holiday. One order of business the quorum court will address during its January meeting is setting the time, day and place for its regular monthly in 2023. There was discussion during the January meeting of moving all quorum court meetings to the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building since those attending meetings would not need to climb the stairs to get to the second floor courtroom. ...
