RISON - Reed Webb of Columbus, Ark., (center with cowboy hat) was the guest auctioneer at the Rison High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) Banquet and Auction last Thursday at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Rison.
Webb is the Arkansas FFA State Auctioneering champion and Arkansas Auctioneering Association champion. In what is becoming a tradition for the Rison FFA program, the students put up some of the items they built throughout the school year for auction, along with some baked goods and other items donated by people from the community. Rison High School agri teacher and FFA sponsor Josey Sorrells said they raised about $4,000 from the event.
The Rison FFA also presented its Star awards to outstanding members. Those included Star Greenhand, Aspen Hurley; Star Service, Dylan Berg; Star Chapter, Clara Strother; Star Honorary Member , Mrs. Jodie Johnson and Star Senior, Avery Lindsey.
