Harry Daniel Hunter of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, or as many knew him “Hippy,” passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024.
Born on May 31, 1946 to Clara Bell Hunter and Harry Milton Hunter.
A dedicated and honorable man, Harry lived a life marked by service and devotion to his country and his loved ones.
Harry was a proud member of the United States Navy, where he served over seven years, including two years of active service. His commitment and bravery during his tenure earned him an Honorable Discharge, a testament to his unwavering dedication and patriotism.
Beyond his military service, Harry was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. He touched the lives of many with his warm heart and willingness to lend a hand to those in need. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Harry found joy and freedom on the open road, a passion he often shared with friends and family. His grandsons held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Laura Hunter, his daughter Tamala Watson, and best friend Kerry Bailey. Harry is survived by 2 brothers and a sister, Kenny Hunter (Shirley) of Star City, Becky Clark of Little Rock, and Ricky Hunter of San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by 3 grandsons who were his world, Chris Herron (Jordan) of Bella Vista, Kyle Herron of Monticello, and Devin Herron (Sydney) of Pansy as well as 4 great granddaughters and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Harry's life will be held at 1 p.m. on June 15 at Greenlee Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Veterans Charity Ride in Harry's memory. Veterans Charity Ride (VCR) is a non-profit organization that delivers Motorcycle Therapy and additional life-changing, life-saving programs specifically developed to assist wounded and amputee combat veterans with their needs and the issues they deal with on a daily basis.
Harry Daniel Hunter will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
