Floyd Everette Miller, 81, of Maumelle, passed away on August 22, 2025, at Willow Grove Senior Living. He was born in Ellisville, Arkansas, on August 29, 1943, to Martha Ellen Miller.
Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Miller; his mother, Martha Miller; his daughter, Nita Michelle; and his sister, Nancy Green.
He is survived by his daughter, Tami Phillips (Andy); his grandsons, Matthew and Harley; his sister, Dorothy Brown; and his brother, Tommy Nevels.
An old-school mechanic at heart, Floyd had a gift for fixing just about anything—often with nothing more than a hammer, welder, and wire. Over the years, he operated a wrecker service and his own mechanic shop, and in his younger days worked on everything from cars to logging equipment. He never missed an opportunity to stop and visit with friends and family. Floyd also enjoyed road trips through the mountains, where he loved taking photos and appreciating the beauty of nature. Hardworking and straightforward, he believed in putting in an honest day’s work and expected the same from others.
He will be remembered for his trucking stories, his perfectly kept lawn, and his award-winning Christmas light displays that brought joy to his family, friends, and neighbors.
A funeral service was held at Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church in New Edinburg, with Brother Dwayne Ashcraft officiating. Interment followed at McCoy Cemetery.
