Three Wildcats Earn Post-Season Honors

RISON - Head coach Chris Vereen of the Rison Wildcats has announced that three members of the 2025 football team have received post season honors for their achievements.Junior quarterback/ defensive back Kyson Walker was named to the Class 3A All-State team along with being named to the 83A All-Conference team. Walker was named to the All-Conference team as a sophomore in 2024. Also named to the 2025 All-Conference team from the Wildcats were a pair of seniors, Jaquis Rauls, running back/defensive end, and Galvin Wilson, offensive lineman/linebacker. Rauls was also an All-Conference performer as a junior.Walker, a two-year starter, rushed for 1,444 yards on 185 carries, for an average of 7.8 yards per run in 2025. He scored 20 touchdowns, and his best rushing game came against Pal esti n e-VVh eatl ey, when he gained 230 yards on 22 runs. Defensively, Walker recorded 61 tackles and 13 pass break-ups.Rauls, seeing his first varsity action at running back for the 'Cats in 2025, rushed for 718 yards on 132 carries, an average of 5.4 yards per run to go with 15 touchdowns. His best outing on offense was against Drew Central, when he ran for 163 yards on 23 carries. On defense, Rauls recorded 69 tackles and had five sacks.From his offensive line position, Wilson had an 85% blocking grade average for the season and had 98 tackles from his linebacker post on defense. Wilson had a 54-yard fumble return for a touchdown against Palestine-Wheatley....
