Woodlawn School Board Approves $2.2M Bond for New Career Education Center

The Woodlawn School Board approve a resolution last Thursday to issue about $2.2 million in bonds to help built a new career education center at the Woodlawn High School campus. The district will net about $2.1 million for construction costs after fees are paid. That money will be combined with nearly $1.3 million in state partnership money to fund the project. Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hancock reported the cafeteria expansion project is about 22 percent complete while the finishing touches on some new playground equipment at the elementary is expected to be completed this week. The school board also approved a new science curriculum for grades 6-8 from Lab-Aids that will include labs.
